Little Bobby Jones Memorial Basketball Clinic
Each year, Shoot for the Stars Founder by Wali Jones (former Overbrook High, Villanova, and NBA player for the Sixers and Baltimore Bullets) organizes the Little Bobby Jones Memorial Basketball Clinic in order to provide children with special needs and inner city youth between the ages of 8 and 18 with opportunity to enjoy a day of family activities, an awards ceremony, and a Back to Basics clinic.
The Little Bobby Jones Memorial Basketball Clinic is named in memory of Wali Jones’ older brother Bobby, who was an accomplished basketball player and who died of stomach cancer.
Back to Basics Sports Boys / Girls Basketball Summer Camp
The Back to Basics Sports Boys / Girls Basketball Summer Camp is a week-long basketball and human development training camp for inner city youth between the ages of 8 and 18. This basketball summer camp is led by legendary sons of Philadelphia: Coach Ken Hamilton, Tee Shields, Lou Williams, Joe Foster, and Al Miles.
It is our goal to help each and every participant become better at the game of basketball, but to encourage our youth to have fun and make friends with fellow players as they strive to understand the fundamentals of basketball as it relates to life skills that we call “Basketballology.”
